CHICAGO – OCTOBER 15, 2018. Man-Y-Faces is a comedic solo sketch revue, that searches through the slime for the shiny parts in strange and messy characters. Watch as the folks we typically avoid in life, are explored at the intersection of a Guillermo Del Toro and Pixar film. Man-Y-Faces is written and performed by amateur shapeshifter, Neftali Morales. Directed by Anna Lucero.
Trapped in an ancient slime pit, our hero Man-Y-Faces must reveal his true identity buried beneath a pile of weirdos that live within his mind, in order to free himself. Is he a star-crossed idiot, a petty cat burglar, a supernatural socialist or a struggling beach vendor in Puerto Rico?
Neftali Morales is a Chicago based writer, improviser and a physical comedic solo performance artist. His sensibilities lie at the intersection of Guillermo Del Toro and Pixar. He recently debuted his solo show, Man-Y-Faces at iO Theater’s Bentwood Comedy festival. He’s an ensemble member of Trigger Happy at The Annoyance Theater, Uncanny Latinx a latinx music improv adjacent troupe and creator/producer of Project Magnanimous a variety show of diverse characters.
Neftali holds a Masters Degree in New Media Studies from DePaul University, is a graduate of The Second City’s Conservatory, Music Conservatory and writing program, as well as The Annoyance Theater, iO Chicago and ComedySportz Chicago training centers.
“Man-Y-Faces” opens October 15th at 9:30PM, and will continue to run through October 29th.
